GPS.COMENIUS – Stage 8 (Hungary)

    1) It's the centre of the District in the Benedictine Tihany Abbey.

    3) It was establised in 1055 AD.
    4) Its patrons are the Virgin Mary and Saint Aignan of Orleans.
    5) Andras 1 (King Andrew 1) is burried here.
    6) There were poems written for the Echo by Mihaly Csokonai Vitez and Mihaly Vorosmarty,summing up the legend of the place about the goat's nails.
    7) "The goat's nails" is the title of the legend. According to the story,the prehistoric clams washed ashore from the Lake Balaton are goat nails. The princess had golden-haired goats but she was too proud and she was cursed by the King of Lake. Her goats were lost in the Balaton.
